Tommy Walsh has today announced his retirement from Inter County Hurling.
Tommy joined the Kilkenny panel in 2002. He has 9 All Ireland Senior medals, 7 National Hurling League medals, 9 Leinster Senior medals and 9 All Stars and 6 Walsh Cups. Tommy was Player of the Year in 2009.
Kilkenny GAA wish to acknowledge the huge contribution Tommy has made to hurling both in Kilkenny and further afield. He has been an inspiration to a generation of young hurling fans and we wish him and his family the very best in his retirement.

Following the County Final played yesterday the focus now turns to the AIB Leinster Club Championship. In the Senior Ballyhale now play Kilmacud Crokes next Sunday in the semi-final with the winners playing Kilcormac Killoughey in the Leinster Final on Dec 7th.
In the Intermediate Mullinavat play Kiltale of Meath in the Leinster Final next Sunday in Navan
In the Junior Bennettsbridge play Crossabeg Ballymurn in Enniscorthy next Sunday with the winners playing in the Final on Dec 7th against either Shamrocks(Offaly) or St Brigids(Westmeath)read more
In front of a crowd of nearly 9000 Ballyhale Shamrocks proved worthy winners of the St Canices Credit Union Senior Hurling Championship with a 1-20 to 1-13 win over defending champions Clara. Ballyhale now meet Kilmacud Crokes in the AIB Leinster Club Semi-Final in Parnell Park next Sunday with a 2pm throw in. Admission to the Semi-final will be €10 for adults and €5 Students and Pensioners. Cash will be accepted at the stiles.
