Railyard 2-8 Muckalee 1-9
At the second time of asking Railyard were deservedly crowned 2015 J J Kavanagh and Sons Senior Football Champions when they had a two point win over neighbours Muckalee in the Final played at Nowlan Park on Sunday evening. There was little between the sides in the first half but a well worked Paul Donnelly goal just before half time put the Railyard in a strong position at the break(Railyard 1-5 Muckalee 0-4). Muckalee had the opening two scores of the second half but the comeback was put on hold when Caleb Roche goaled for the winners in the 34th minute. Muckalee then took over and a Colin Mc Grath penalty in the 47th minute left just a point betrween the sides. Two more points in as many many minutes had the Muckalee side ahead as the game entered the final 10 minutes. But Railyard finished the stronger and three unanswered points in the closing minutes gave the Railyard side a deserved victory. Picture shows Football Board Chairman Tom Brennan presenting the trophy to captain Kevin Phillips.
