Eoin Larkin today announced his retirement from inter County Hurling. Eoin has had a fantastic intercounty career over 12 years. He made his championship debut against Offaly in Croke Park in 2005 and ended his career with 8 All Ireland medals, 10 Leinster SHC medals, 6 National Hurling League medals, 2 All Stars and Hurler of the Year in 2008. He also has All Ireland medals at Minor level(2002), Under 21(2004) and Senior Club with James Stephens(2005)
Kilkenny County Board Chairman Ned Quinn thanked Eoin for his tremendous contribution to Kilkenny hurling and wished him well in his retirement.

December is Convention month in Kilkenny and the season kicks off with Bord na nOg this Thursday Dec 1st in Nowlan Park at 8pm. This will be followed on Monday 5th with The Football Board also in Nowlan Park at 8pm. It will be the turn of the Handball Board on Wednesday 7th in Nowlan Park. Then on the following Monday Dec 12th The North and South Conventions take place - The North in Nowlan Park and the South in Mullinavat GAA. The County Convention takes place on Thursday 15th December in O'Loughlin Gaels. Clubs are encouraged to ensure that they are represented at all these important gatherings.read more
Whilst pride of place next weekend will go to Kilkenny's three representatives in the AIB Club Championship there will be some crucial games in the J J Kavanagh and Sons Under 21 Championship. The competition is now down to final stage both North and South at A and B level.
In the North the A Final between Dicksboro and James Stephens is down for decision on Sunday morning at 11.30 in Clara. On Saturday the B decider goes ahead at 2pm between Graigue Ballycallan and Tullaroan in Freshford. In the South the B decider between Dunnamaggin and Piltown is down for decision in Mullinavat on Sunday at 12.15 - [Please note time change]. The South A Final between Ballyhale Shamrocks and The Rower Inistioge takes place in Thomastown also on Sunday with a 2.15pm throw in.

Following Ratoath's (Meath) extra time win over Rosenallis on Saturday the AIB Leinster Junior Club Final between the Meath champions and Mooncoin now goes ahead next Saturday Dec 3rd in Nowlan Park at 2pm. At the same time, Carrickshock will be in Newbridge where they will take on Celbridge in the Intermediate decider. Then on Sunday it will be the turn of O'Loughlin Gaels who travel to Portlaoise to take on Cuala in the senior final with a 2pm throw in.
