Intermediate Semi-Finals in Nowlan Park on Sunday

This weekend sees four Intermediate Clubs striving to reach the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate County Final in a very attractive double header in Nowlan Park on Sunday. First up at 1.30 pm will be the clash of Southern neighbours Tullogher Rosbercon and Mullinavat. Then at 3.15 it will be the turn of St Patricks Ballyraggett and Graigue Ballycallan. Admission will be €10 for adults and €5 for students and pensioners. Under 16's are free.

Please note that admission will be to Ardan de Gras(Long Stand) only as work continues on the new roof on the other side of ground. Adult admission is by TICKET ONLY which will be on sale at the two Sales Kiosks on the Hebron Road. Admission for Students and Pensioners will be by cash at the designated stiles.  Please note early start time on Sunday because of hour change this weekend.

Railyard Progress to Leinster Club Quarter-Final

Railyard 2-8  Aughrim 1-7

Kilkenny GAA wishes to congratulate The Railyard on their great win in the AIB Leinster Intermediate Football Championship yesterday. They now progress to the Quarter-Final where they will meet Eadestown, recently crowned Kildare Intermediate Champions. The game will be played at a Kilkenny venue on Sunday 2nd November. Junior Semi-Final Double Header in Nowlan Park on Sunday

Next Sunday Nowlan Park will host a double header in the J J Kavanagh and Sons Junior Hurling Championship Semi-Finals. This will be the first of 5 Nowlan Park Super Sundays culminating in the Minor and Senior Finals on November 16th. First up at 2pm will be the meeting of Mooncoin and O'Loughlin Gaels. Then at 3.45 Bennettsbridge will take on Galmoy. The Junior Final is scheduled to take place on Sunday 9th November as a curtain raiser to the Intermediate Final.

Because of on-going construction work on the new roof of Ardan Breathnach admission to Nowlan Park until further notice will be to Ardan de Gras only with entry from Hebron Road. Admission next Sunday will be €10 for adults, €5 for Students and Pensioners while children under 16 are free.

Railyard in Leinster Intermediate Football Action This Weekend

Although our club hurling season has been delayed somewhat it is all systems go in the AIB Leinster Club Football Championship. First up will be our senior champions Railyard who play Aughrim of Wicklow in the Club Intermediate Championship in Freshford on Sunday with a 3pm throw in.

Meanwhile our representatives in the Junior Football Championship will be known when Piltown and Thomastown play the J J Kavanagh and Sons Kilkenny Intemediate Final on the weekend of 25th to 27th October. The Kilkenny winners will be away to either Straffan of Kildare or Sean Connollys of Longford in the Leinster Junior Quarter-Final on Nov 9th.

Scór na nÓg

Kilkenny County Board will host Scór na nÓg (U17) on Thursday November 13th at 8pm in Langtons Set Theatre.   All clubs are asked to participate and enter acts in the following competitions:  Set Dancing, Ceili Dancing, Recitation/Storytelling, Ballad Group Singing, Instrumental Music and Solo Signing.   The closing date for applications will be Thursday November 6th. Scór is a GAA competition designed to bring together the rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of Ireland’s traditional past-times.   It was established in 1969 with the aim of promoting these traditional past-times in the winter months, offering club members the chance to come together in a traditional environment. Click on Read More below for more information and application form.
