Bennettsbrisge 2-19 Annaghdown(Galway) 0-9
Bennettsbridge set up a visit to Croke Park when they had a comprehensive win over Galway champions Annaghdown in the AIB All Ireland Junior Semi-Final played in Nenagh on Sunday. The Kilkenny side played against the strong wind in the first half and were level 0-3 to 0-3 mid way through the half. But, urged on by a huge support, the Galway side had a great last 10 minutes and were good value for their 0-7 to 0-4 half time lead. Five minutes into the second half the Bridge were level and by the mid point were 6 points ahead 0-14 to 0-8. A Liam Blanchfield goal in the 48th minute removed any doubt about the result and the free moving Bennettsbridge side ran out comprehensive winners in the end 2-19 to 0-9 with the second goal coming from Cormac Wafer. Bennettsbridge now meet Fullen Gaels who were in the final two yeras ago when Thomastown won their All Ireland title. The game takes place in Croke Park on Sunday 15th February.

Kilkenny GAA is today mourning the tragic death, as a result of a farm accident, of Clara's Johnny Ryan. Johnny was an outstanding hurler with Clara and, along with his brothers Harry, Lester, and Kevin, was a member of Clara's Senior championship winning team of 1986. He captained Kilkenny to win the All Ireland Masters title in 1995 and was also a member of the winning teams in 1997,1998 and 1999.
His son Lester captained Kilkenny to victory in last year's All Ireland Senior final and along with his two other sons Liam and Tom were members of the Clara team which competed in last year's Senior Co Final.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Johnny's wife Lily, his sons Lester, Liam & Tom, his brothers Harry, Lester & Kevin, his sisters Mary, Breda & Rita and the extended Ryan Family at this sad time. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Dicksboro 5-9 Thomastown 0-10
Dicksboro made no mistake on this occasion securing a comprehensive win over Thomastown in the J J Kavanagh & Sons under 21A County Final replay in Nowlan Park on Sunday. There was little between the sides in the opening stages and with the city side reduced to 14 men half way through the half Thomastown looked well capable of causing an upset here. But three goals in a three minute spell just before half-time finished this game as a contest. Dicksboro had an 11 point lead at the break and a super strike from Daragh Holohan shortly after the resumption cemented their win. They comfortably dealt with any threat from the Thomastown side and finished worthy champions on a 5-9 to 0-10 scoreline.
