Galmoy/Windgap 1-11 Young Irelands 2-2
April 2nd 2018
The Galmoy/Windgap U-17 hurlers made a winning start to their 2018 campaign with a good victory over Young Irelands Gowran at a very foggy Windgap on Easter Monday morning April 2nd. After making a good start, Galmoy/Windgap lead 0-7 to 0-1 at the interval, the Gowran point coming from a Jason Brennan free in the 29th minute. With the pitch proving very soft, good hurling was not always possible but Galmoy/Windgap kept up their dominance, and when Mark McCoy hit their goal they were always going to win, as they restricted Young Irelands to just one score from play. The next outing for these sides will be on Wednesday April 11th.

Minor Hurling League Roinn B
Fenians 2-12, Galmoy/Windgap 1-6
The Fenians minors were much too smart for the Galmoy/Windgap combination in Johnstown on Tuesday July 10th 2012 in this Roinn B League clash..This game was switched to Johnstown during the day as the Galmoy pitch was waterlogged. The home side were the better side all through and the movement of their forwards had the visitors defence stretched all through. The concession of a number of needless frees also gave Mark Webster the chance to slot over some handy scores. Indeed the winning margin could have been greater if Fenians had converted all of the chances created.
County Junior Hurling League [Round 5]
GALMOY 1-17, GRAIGNAMANAGH 3-10
Four minutes into injury time of this County Junior League clash at Galmoy on Sunday July 22nd 2012, Graignamanagh were awarded a thirty metre free in front of goal. With Galmoy one point ahead, one expected Eddie Walsh to pop the sliotar over the bar and settle for the draw. Unbelievably, Walsh’s shot slipped outside the upright and Galmoy escaped to victory.
