Kilkenny Qualify for Allianz League Final in Nowlan Park
![]()
Kilkenny qualified in style for the 2013 Allianz League Final with a 1-24 to 1-17 win over Galway in the Semi-Final at Semple Stadium today. In the first semi-final, also played in Thurles, Tipperary easily outclassed an out of sorts Dublin. And after the game the GAA confirmed that the Final will be played in Nowlan Park on Sunday 5th May at 3.30. This ensures a bumper weekend of GAA action with the Minors due to meet Wexford in the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Hurling Quarter-Final on Saturday 4th also in Nowlan Park. The call will now go out to all Clubs to help the County stage this prestige event. For match report, courtesy GAA.ie, and more photos, courtesy Martin Rowe, click on Read More below
Dicksboro Under-8's play in Croke Park
![]()
Dicksboro under 8's fulfilled the dream of many GAA players throughout the country and beyond by taking to the hallowed field in Croke Park to play Borris/Kilcotton from Laois last Friday. The 'Boro boys were under the watchful eyes of their mentors, Dan O'Neill, Sean Fitzpatrick, Adrian Keogh and Noel Kavanagh. The event was part of the Leinster GAA Croke Park Experience Day, April 2013, which is a great initiative and has hopefully created a memory for these boys that will last a lifetime.

Minors Make Impressive Start to Leinster Campaign
![]()
The Kilkenny Minor team made an impressive start to their Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Hurling Championship campaign with a deserved 3-20 to 1-9 victory over a game Laois side at Nowlan Park on Saturday. The early exchanges were very even with the Laois boys, playing with a strong wind, really matching their Kilkenny opponents in skill and determination. However a John Walsh goal just before half time gave Kilkenny a 1-9 to 0-7 half time lead. Then two goals in as many minutes early in the second half by Alan Murphy and Kevin Kenny ended the game as a contest and Kilkenny ran out impressive winners 3-20 to 1-9.
