Ballyhale Secure All-Ireland Final Berth

Sunday, 10 February 2019 at 10AM

Ballyhale Shamrocks once again secured a spot in the AIB All-Ireland Club Senior Hurling Final on March 17th following a good win over Waterford champions Ballygunner.   The opening half saw little between the teams, the score reading 0-8 to 0-7 in Ballygunner's favour at half-time.   On the restart the game was to come to life and Ballyhale through young star Eoin Cody claimed what was to be a vital goal to push the gap out to three points.   From then on Ballyhale were in the driving seat and closed out the game with the final score reading 1-15 to 0-13, securing yet another Croke Park appearance for the famous club.

Graigue Ballycallan come up short against Charleville

Saturday, 19 January 2019 at 7PM

Hard luck to Graigue Ballycallan who came up short against a dogged Charleville in Thurles today.   It was a close battle in the first half with Graigue Ballycallan and Charleville exchanging points in a tit for tat battle, but it was Graigue who entered the dressing room two points to the good, 0-9 to 0-7 at halt-time.   On the restart it was much of the same but a goal for Charleville on 47 minutes proved decisive and gave them the confidence to push on.   Graigue however staged a mini comeback with a goal of their own through Aaron Brennan in added time but it was too late.    The final score was 1-13 to 1-15 with Charleville proceeding to the All Ireland Final.

All attention now turns to Dunnamaggin who will face Cloughduv in their All-Ireland Junior S/F in Fraher Field, Dungarvan tomorrow (Sunday) at 2pm.   Best wishes to them.

Carrickshock were hugely impressive winners over a disappointing Ahascragh- Fohenagh team in The AIB Intermediate Club Final in Croke Park on Saturday. The Kilkenny side were always in control and ran out convincing winners 2-15 to 0-6. Richie Power, who at one stage over the past few months thought he may never play again, gave a Man of the Match performance contributing 6 points of his side's total. Picture shows captain John Tennyson inviting Gary Comerford and Jim Rohan to left the cup in the Hogan Stand.
