Both the Kilkenny minors and seniors endured losses in Semple Stadium today, the minors were up against Galway in the first match of the day and fell behind early on with Galway picking off points with much more ease, eight points the difference at half time. The second half continued in the same vein for both teams and Kilkenny struggled to close the gap with Galway eventually running out seven point winners to book their All-Ireland semi-final place. Kilkenny will have to do it all again next Saturday in Semple Stadium against Limerick, that match has a throw in time of 3pm. An All-Ireland semi-final space awaits the winner.
The seniors once again had a thrilling contest and despite behind ahead at various stages of the first half they headed down the tunnel at half-time three point behind on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-15. On the restart Kilkenny started the slow process to close that gap and they had to wait until the 64th minute when Richie Hogan struck for goal before they retook the lead, 2 points the advantage now. Limerick responded well grabbing the next three points, before Richie Leahy scored Kilkenny's final point. With the scores tied at 1-22 to 0-25, the next two points for Limerick proved crucial. Limerick had by now booked their place in the All-Ireland semi-final against Cork on July 29th. The performance of the these players and our management team this season is one we can be proud off and we can look truely look forward to 2019.

Cork 0-19 Kilkenny 0-14
Despite their very best efforts Kilkenny could not summon up the performance to match a young skillful Cork side in the All Ireland Quarter Final in Thurles on Sunday. For many fans August will now feel very strange and few would have forecasted at the start of the year that the final four would be Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Clare. While there is huge disappointment around the County this Monday morning the players and management team should feel buoyed by the huge number of goodwill messages from both inside and outside of the county. Supporters should also remember that our Minor team play Waterford in the All Ireland Semi-Final on Sunday 11th August as curtain raiser to the Dublin v Cork Semi-Final.
