Kilkenny Intermediate Manager Pat Hoban Steps Down
Kilkenny Intermediate hurling team manager Pat Hoban has announced his attention to step down from his position. Pat, who has held the position since 2007, had a most successful tenure winning four Leinster titles (2008-2011) and two All Ireland titles (2008 and 2010).

Kilkenny went down to Clare in the All Ireland Intermediate final losing on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-11. It was a brave effort by the Kilkenny team, which was four points in arreara at the interval, 1-8 to 1-4. the Kilkenny goal coming from Paul O'Flynn. Kilkenny's best sector was its defence where P.J. Rowe and Stephen Byrne stood out while Ger Aylward made most impact up front when introduced as a sub.
Kilkenny Under 14's were eliminated after the Group Stage, despite being undefeated, in the Tony Forristal Under 14 tournament held in Thurles and Walsh Park respectively. Kilkenny drew with Waterford and defeated Wexford but a draw in their final game with Tipperary meant the Tipperary team went through.
