Another Successful Lisdowney 7's Tournament

The 36th edition of the Lisdowney Sevens, sponsored by Lisdowney Wind Farms, came to a successful conclusion at the weekend. 

Congratulations to Young Irelands, winners of the Lisdowney Windfarm 7s Sweeney Cup 2017. Worthy runners up were Dicksboro who put in a great performance.

Congratulations to James Stephens, winners of the Kilkenny Supporters Club Shield Final 2017. Runners up were Naas who put in a fantastic performance in an exciting match that went to extra time.

Player of the Tournament was Young Ireland's Charlie Fitzgerald. Well done Charlie!

Lisdowney Sevens in Full Swing

The Lisdowney Sevens, sponsored by Lisdowney Wind Farm, is now in its 36th year. The first rounds got underway last weekend with action in round two this coming Saturday. The Finals are scheduled for August 5th.

Lisdowney Sevens StartsThis Weekend

Now in its 35th year the annual Lisdowney Sevens commences this coming weekend. This year the Lisdowney Club are delighted to welcome on board a new sponsor - Lisdowney Wind Farm Ltd. The tournament takes place over three weekends and will have over 300 participants.

Lisdowney Seven's Another Great Success

Over the last three weekends teams from 32 clubs have participated in the 34th Lisdowney Sevens Tournament sponsored by J J Kavanagh and Sons. The finals were held over the August weekend and winners were Dicksboro with the Shield title going to Graigue Ballycallan.

J J Kavanagh & Sons Lisdowney Sevens Starts This Weekend

On Saturday 18th July 28 clubs from the county Kilkenny, clubs from Clare, Tipperary, Laois, Carlow and Kildare will begin the challenge for the 34th JJ Kavanagh & Sons Lisdowney 7’s tournament.    A total of 50 clubs were contacted about this year’s event.  This figure includes all the clubs in county Kilkenny, clubs from out side the county that have been loyal to the tournament over the years and clubs from outside the county that have expressed an interest in participating.  Thirty two teams will compete in this event and there is a stand-by list of 7 teams waiting in the wings for a cancellation and the opportunity to participate.
