Death of Michael Kelly RIP
Kilkenny County Board notes with regret the death of Michael Kelly of Bennettsbridge. Michael was a noted hurler with his club, Bennettsbridge and his county, Kilkenny. He captained the All Ireland winning Kilkenny team of 1957 when he scored the winning point against Waterford in the All Ireland final. He also won seven county senior hurling championship finals with Bennettsbridge in the 1950's and 1960's.
Kilkenny County Board would like to express its sympathy to his wife, son and daughters, brothers and sisters, grandchildren and extended family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Funeral Arrangements are as follows: Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home from 6pm on Friday with Funeral Prayers at 7pm followed by removal to St. Bennett's Church, Bennettsbridge. Funeral on Saturday after 11am requiem mass to the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to the Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare Team.
