Following the fantastic victory in the All Ireland Final Replay on Saturday the victorious Kilkenny team received a heroes welcome in Kilkenny on Sunday afternoon. The official souvenir number plate containing Kilkenny Crest, Match Score, Match Date and Attendance proved a huge hit at the Home-Coming on Sunday. Supporters are reminded that the final Training Session on Thursday evening will be open to the Public. The session is due to start at 6.30 and gates will be open from 5.30. Due to the continuing work on the Old Stand, admission will be from the Hebron Road only to Ardan de Gras. Following the session the panel will have a team meeting after which the line-up for the replay will be announced. The Supporters Club will be present behind the stand where membership, banquet tickets and players' training and holiday fund raffle tickets will all be available.
In the meantime, Clubs and Former Players should ensure that all match tickets are collected before 2pm on Wednesday as the intention is that the Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday in advance of the replay on Saturday.
Important Information re Post Match Banquet at City West
Kilkenny GAA wish to advise supporters who intend attending the Post match Banquet in City West on Saturday night that they should secure their tickets(€50) without delay. Because of other functions at City West this weekend the number of tickets for the Banquet are limited and going fast. Please contact Jim Freeman of the Supporters Club on 087-2551507. Tickets can be collected at the Open Training Session on Thursday night. Please note unused Banquet tickets for Sept 7th are not valid this weekend.
Our Senior players have been justifiably lauded for the huge committment they make to Kilkenny Hurling. Following the epic drawn game they are now in the throes of preparation for another huge game in two weeks time. Kilkenny GAA Supporters Club are presently selling Raffle Tickets for the Players Training and Holiday Fund. The post match banquet will be held at CITY WEST Hotel on Sunday 7th September with an 8pm start. Banquet tickets cost €60 and are available from Jim Freeman of the Supporters Club. We appeal specially to the 1300 people who have booked rooms in City West to ensure that they have their Banquet tickets secured before 6pm on Friday..
