Michael Kavanagh Retires from Inter County Hurling

Star Kilkenny defender Michael Kavanagh has today announced his decision to retire from inter county hurling. The record equalling eight time All Ireland medal winner also won thirteen Leinster senior titles,five National League medals and four All Stars in an honour laden career. Michael was also the last remaining Kilkenny panelist whose career beginning outdated Brian Cody's appointment as Kilkenny manager. Whilst we are all sorry to see Michael retire from inter county action we say congratulations on an honour laden career and thank you for your wonderful service to Kilkenny hurling since 1998.
